Foods in Hefei

There are many unique foods in Hefei and since we are heading to Hefei for OELP this May, I have collected some information about the unique foods in Hefei to have a deeper understanding about the location that we are heading to.

1)The rice dumplings in Sanhe
 The skin of the dumplings is made of rice powder which is self explanatory because of its name, rice dumplings. The filling of the rice dumpling is pork and they will be deep-fried in oil before consumed. They are golden in colour in terms of its appearance and rice dumplings have been made and consumed for one hundred years.

2)Hui's type fried noodles
Hui's type fried noodles is made by adopting the Hui method of slicing noodles, due to the fact that the noodles are all sliced by only a knife , the flavor is better and definitely beats the noodles that are produced by machines . The quality of the noodle is better, softer, smoother. The noodles are usually eaten with winter bamboo, lean meat, Shuifa black mushrooms and seasoning such as refined salt, rice wine, sauce etc. After frying the noodles, the colour of the noodles is yellow and it is a great dish.


3)soup with sweet fermented rice glue ball
The sweet fermented rice glue ball is made with glutinous rice powder for the skin and t is made of sesame sugar, bean pastes to make into the rice glue ball. The soup is made with honey,refined sugar,sweet fermented rice etc. After the soup is ready. The sweet fermented rice glue ball will be put inside in the sweet,flavorful soup and it is ready to consume. Not only the soup is sweet and fresh, it also has sweet fermented fermented rice. This delicacy is first invented in 1930.


4)Crayfish
Crayfish is one of Hefei' signature food. The crayfish is usually boiled and eaten together with vinegary or very spicy dipping sauces. It adds to the natural sweetness of the crayfish itself, leaving everyone more of it. For the locals, the crayfish is typically eaten outside accompanied with beer in the warmer months. Hefei's most famous crayfish street is 宁国路龙虾美食.

In Hefei, we will be able to find orthodox Hui dishes in Xiaoyao Restaurant,Huaqiao Hotel,Huaishang Restaurant etc. local snacks can be also found in People Lane, Lobster A Street, Ningguo Road .
