One-Child Policy

After having a CID lesson understanding more about the one-child policy in China, I understood that in China , the production rate is too high each year then they have to have this one-child policy to control the number of babies born each year. China's population of females is declining, not too quickly but bit by bit, 'till things are getting slightly out of hand. The ratio of males to females being born in China have a relatively large difference of 17%. This also means that in the future, there would be less women to give birth.
However, in Singapore now, too little babies are born each year and the number of babies is dwindling each year, just like in China. The number of the older generation is more as compared to the number of babies. Due to the fact that this is a very serious issue that needs to be resolved as soon as possible, the government had came up with schemes such as 'Baby Bonus'. This scheme will reward those families that have 3 or more children, just as to encourage people in Singapore to have more babies. I feel that this scheme is indeed beneficial to us and this is a very serious issue that may get out of hand because just like what we learnt during lesson , nowadays it is up to us the younger generation to provide for our elders. In this case, one young adult will have to carry a heavy load of 6 people and it will definitely make a great impact on Singapore's future. In the pursuit of a greater luxury and a good life, young people refuse to give birth to more than one child or even not willing to have child lest the child will add on to their stressful life and becomes a responsibility or I should in harsher words a burden that they can never escape from. Now the question is, will our generation be able to handle the load that will be given to us in time to come?
