About Poverty in Singapore

What I think about poverty in Singapore is that, you don't really see it, it is kind of "invisible". I said so because I have been in Singapore for 7 years but I don't really see any beggar that is on the streets or so on, but I do know that poverty must be existing somewhere in Singapore.

Singapore, in most people's senses,is very rich, so they don't really link this together with poverty, but there are still like 105 000 households having a lower tha average income that is barely enough for their everyday needs. This is where the government's subsidies come, or FAS for students, with these subsidies, it will make their life a lot better.

In other countries like China, beggars around the streets is really common, but most of them is like the beggar in scenario 2, controlled by mafias, and quiet a few were "Man Made handicaps" in order to get pity from others.

But we were too suspicious for anything, which caused us in resulting not to choose not to believe in the beggars and not donating to them. I think that we should do what we can to help them.
